The Changing Faces Of Homelessness – Snapshot Of San Angelo

Homeless Man - CVHPCThe images of homelessness — sunken-cheeked men railing against imaginary voices — now include the family next door – hardworking individuals who, for the first time in their lives, are unable to support themselves and their families.

  • Children with developmental delays from never having a steady place to call home.
  • Single mothers with their children who are who are fleeing their homes because of domestic violence.
  • Veterans who return home to battle addiction and mental illness.
  • Disabled, whose benefits provide barely enough to meet basic needs.

We are excited about this partnership which now allows the Homeless Planning Coalition to receive donated funds and apply for grants under Galilee CDC’s nonprofit status. The Coalition comes in as a program under Galilee CDC with its own advisory board and still operates with the same guidelines and mission statement but with the ability to have a bigger impact on the community.
