The Concho Valley Homeless Planning Coalition had its monthly public meeting on March 13, 2019, at the City Hall East Mezzanine downtown. Our next meeting is on April 10, 2019, at 9:00 AM. Highlights from the meeting include:
Guest speaker Chief Frank Cater talked about the “homeless issue from a police officer’s perspective.” Did you know the police are now using a drone to monitor tent encampments around the city? We didn’t either until we saw some very telling drone photos of hidden tent camps along the Concho River. Not so hidden anymore!
We were also presented with the overall results of the 2019 Point In Time Count conducted on January 24th of this year. 373 total homeless people we counted. That’s more than double the count from 2018 (164). See the attached THN Final Report below for details.
